Getting There
Moyer Student Union Building, UNLV
Student Union building interior
The 2nd annual Living Without Borders / Viviendo Sin Fronteras encuentro will be held Friday, November 6 – Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada, on the campus of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. Most of the scheduled events will take place in or around the Moyer Student Union Building at the eastern edge of campus.
Where To Park
There will be free parking available on all three days of the encuentro. You may park in any parking space on
campus except for those marked off as reserved, marked Staff,
or marked
Student.
Convenient parking is available in the large lot at Maryland
Parkway and Harmon Avenue, located right in front of the Student Union
building. If you have any questions about parking, contact
us for information.
Where To Go: Registration
When you first arrive for the Living Without Borders encuentro, you should head for the Student Union building on UNLV’s campus. The registration table, film, workshops, keynotes, and most other events will be held at the Student Union.
The Student Union building is at the edge of UNLV campus, near the intersection
of Maryland Parkway and Harmon Avenue. You'll
see a large, wide parking lot in front of the alumni center, a high-rise office building
(FDH), and a big building with a banner reading Student Union
along the front wall.
Where To Go: Entertainment
Our Saturday night free concert will be held near the encuentro site at the UNLV Student Union building court yard. Driving and parking directions are the same as for the Student Union building itself.
Where To Go: Lunch at La Casita
Lunch on Saturday and Sunday will be served at La Casita
on
UNLV campus (HOU, the
Multicultural Center / Centro Multicultural), a meeting center with open,
relaxed spaces for finding a comfortable seat, sharing a meal and sharing
experiences and conversation.
La Casita is a short walk from the Student Union building, towards the south side of campus. Walk out past the courtyard, following the direction signs to HOU. You should be walking away from the high-rise office building next to the Student Union (FDH), and towards the campus bookstore and the Tonopah Residence Complex. You'll find a small road called Brussels St.; there should be a large student parking lot on your left, and student church centers (the LDS Institute of Religion and the Thomas Aquinas center) on your right. Pass by both; the Multicultural Center will be at the end, marked with a sign on the front lawn. Just come up the walk way and through the front door!

UNLV's main campus is located in central Las Vegas between Tropicana
